WHAT'S NEW?
October 2016 - TOTW took a day during the Feast of Tabernacles to go preach at
University of Wisconsin- Madison. Biblical preaching includes a warning against
the consequences of sin and the proclamation of the solution in Jesus Christ
alone. Of course, such preach is often met with mixed reactions and results. The
couple hours spent were relatively uneventful. We were able to help with the
physical needs of some, answer questions about the bible and the Godhead, and
sow seeds of conviction unto salvation through the promise of Jesus Christ.
November 2015 - Attempts to quiet the Gospel. The local government in Woodstock has passed an ordinance which does not allow any use of amplification in the Town Square. As many of our readers and viewers are aware, the local church has been using amplification to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ within the square for the last couple months. We believe the new ban is a direct attack of the enemy to that effort.
The amendment to the city’s disorderly conduct ordinance means the use of loudspeakers and other sound amplifiers will be banned under certain circumstances in the city’s business districts and other public spaces, including on the Woodstock Square and along Route 47.“This was based on complaints from residents and merchants that said they weren’t too happy with the amplification that was going on,” City Manager Roscoe Stelford said. “Some felt like it was impacting their businesses.”
October 2015 - Amidst observing the Feast of Tabernacles, TOTW took the gospel to the streets of Kentucky. Set up in the 'Free Speech Zone" of Murray State University, the saints ministered to the lost and the mainstream believers as well. Ron Sessions preached of sin, wrath, judgment, mercy and the love of God over a bullhorn while several of the other saints took to one-on-one evangelizing and educating the students that gathered periodically around the perimeter.
Interestingly enough, the main opposition did not arise from the lost individuals but rather from several who claimed to be Christian. These outspoken individuals were concerned that talking about judgment and sin was 'hateful' and did not show the love of God. The members of the ministry that were present took the time to lovingly explain the proper biblical perspective to these wayward professors of Christ. An article appeared in the Murray State News regarding our evangelizing campaign and, although obviously biased against the church's presence and message, the gospel message was still conveyed and Christ thereby glorified.
Acts 3:19-20 Repent ye therefore, and be
converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall
come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before
was preached unto you:
Acts 2:38-40 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the
promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did
he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
